Find answers to common questions about InVivoLabs, our CRO directory, and how we help connect research sponsors with contract research organizations.
For Research Sponsors
InVivoLabs is a comprehensive directory connecting pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and research institutions with contract research organizations (CROs) specializing in preclinical research. Our platform allows you to search, compare, and connect with CROs based on services, species capabilities, location, and specializations.
Use our CRO search page to filter organizations by services offered (toxicology, pharmacokinetics, efficacy studies, etc.), animal species (rodents, NHP, canine, etc.), geographic location, and specialized capabilities like CNS drug delivery or GLP compliance. You can also browse by category or use keyword search.
Yes! Searching the directory and viewing CRO profiles is completely free for research sponsors. You can browse unlimited profiles, read about services and capabilities, and contact CROs directly through their listed contact information at no charge.
Each CRO profile includes contact information provided by the organization. You can reach out directly via their listed email, phone number, or website. Some profiles also include contact forms for direct inquiries. We recommend mentioning that you found them through InVivoLabs.
CRO profiles include information about accreditations (such as AAALAC), certifications, GLP compliance status, and years of experience. We encourage sponsors to verify credentials directly with the CRO and conduct appropriate due diligence before entering into contracts. InVivoLabs provides information but does not endorse or guarantee any particular organization.

For the best results, include: a detailed description of your organization, all services offered, animal species you work with, accreditations and certifications (AAALAC, GLP status), specialized capabilities, geographic location, years in operation, and current contact information. Profiles with complete information receive significantly more inquiries.
Complete your profile thoroughly with detailed service descriptions. Consider upgrading to a premium listing for featured placement. You can also explore advertising opportunities including sponsored placements and banner advertising to increase your visibility to research sponsors.
About Preclinical Research
Preclinical research is the stage of drug development that occurs before human clinical trials. It includes laboratory studies (in vitro) and animal studies (in vivo) designed to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics of potential drug candidates. This research is essential for regulatory submissions like IND applications.
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is a quality system of management controls for research laboratories. GLP compliance ensures that non-clinical safety studies are conducted with proper planning, performance, monitoring, recording, archiving, and reporting. Studies intended for regulatory submissions typically must be conducted under GLP.
AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) International is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science. AAALAC accreditation is considered the gold standard for animal care and use programs and demonstrates a CRO's commitment to responsible animal research.
Common preclinical studies include:
Toxicology studies (acute, subchronic, chronic) to assess safety
Pharmacokinetic (PK) studies to understand drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion
Efficacy studies to demonstrate therapeutic effect in disease models
Safety pharmacology to evaluate effects on cardiovascular, respiratory, and CNS systems
Reproductive toxicology to assess effects on fertility and development
